Our One Thing

A Coffee Rant

This is a rant so please feel no obligation to read it. But I have to get this off my chest.

Within the real estate business, I have watched numerous fads come and go over the past five years. When I say “fad” I mean how real estate companies recruit agents. The fastest growing company over the past 10 or so years (and heavily prevalent in Indy) refer to themselves as an “agent-centric” company. Same with the new EXP Realty, a new wave headed to our city focused on “agent shareholders”.

The CORE BUSINESS and target demographic of these large real estate companies continues to be RECRUITING AGENTS, not providing the best buying or selling experience for customers.

Gary Keller wrote a book called the “One Thing” which is about finding your “one thing” that effects all others. I just don’t believe you can have two “one things”. And I believe that the ONE THING must always be:

This always disturbed me even as a younger agent. Being “agent-centric” was supposed to be the honey that kept me there at my big broker boss – but in the back of my mind I was thinking “but what about the customer”?

As it turned out I was pretty much on my own when it came to customer satisfaction. I had to purchase CRM systems, transaction coordinators, marketing and advertising amongst many other fees. I paid my broker for my E&O insurance, tech fees, consortium fees, annual fees, franchise fees and give away a large portion of my commissions to my “agent-centric” broker.

Here at Green Pocket Realty our ONE THING is the customer.

From high tech systems like Dot Loop and Centralized Showings to our quick communication to our amazing photography of your home, to our marketing savvy, to our solid negotiating deals on your behalf, to our AMAZINGLY LOW COMMISSION FEE – it’s ALL about the customer.

If we provide our customers the VERY BEST REALTOR experience, we believe they will tell others about us and we will grow. It’s all about the customer.
